吉利服逐漸的被軍隊使用并推廣，尤其是像狙擊手，偵察兵等這一類型的兵種使用的最多，由于戰場是極度危險的，死亡或生存只是一瞬之間，而穿上這種衣服確實能在戰場上減少被敵人發現的幾率（這個跟很多人在玩游戲的時候遭遇吉利人兒是一樣的效果），于是又被軍人親切的稱謂吉利的服裝，不過在戰場上確實也能為自己討得幾分吉利，可是吉利服也只是這種衣服的小名兒。
