In the revolutionary war era, our army did not have a standard camouflage net, and during the war, we could only use some convenient materials for some simple camouflage. Later, during the War of Resistance Against US Aggression and Aid to Korea, our army imitated the Soviet Union's cotton and linen camouflage nets and produced a batch of camouflage nets, but they could only be used to counter visual observation. The standard camouflage net independently produced in China was first produced in the 1960s. After decades of efforts from generation to generation, we have independently developed three generations and multiple models of camouflage nets.

With the widespread use of thermal detection equipment in modern battlefields, modern camouflage networks must solve the problem of preventing mid to far infrared reconnaissance. The 95 camouflage net currently used in China consists of a camouflage net surface and a thermal insulation layer. The military camouflage net surface is made of decorative materials with different cut flowers and structural forms on the skeleton net. These decorative materials in different cut flower forms and processed PVC hair clusters have different emissivity and thermal conductivity characteristics. The thermal insulation layer is composed of a high reflective coating on the inner surface and a thermal insulation cloth with high and low emissivity coatings on the outer surface, which is punched and sewn, and can effectively shield and distort the target's thermal map.

通常我們見到的偽裝網都是草地的顏色，實際上偽裝網會根據軍隊行進中的環境對偽裝網的顏色進行調整，87偽裝網在還未解決技術型問題時，已經對傳統偽裝網進行了改進，制作出了林地拼花偽裝網、沙漠迷彩葉狀偽裝網、草原型偽裝網、雪地型偽裝網幾種型號。
